Bùth Bharraigh is a community retail and visitor hub in the heart of Castlebay. It is a social enterprise that helps our community flourish by providing retail space for local products and a range of other goods and services. It is also home of Barra and Vatersay Visitor Information Service.​

• A printing service for boarding passes and other small items and photocopying facilities

• Hire bicycles, golf clubs,beach wheelchairs and a laundry service

• Guides and leaflets: order online to plan your stay and we will post them out to you or send you weblinks.

• Food, drinks and toiletries: order items online that you need for your holiday and we can have them ready for collection on your arrival or deliver them to your door

• During our opening hours, we are at the end of the phone, email or social media to answer all your questions.

 

We are a great place to stock up on food items from our extensive refillery with lots of herbs and spices, nuts, dried fruit, washing up liquid, shampoo etc...  We cater for vegetarians, vegans as well as people with food sensitivities.  We have delicious local foods such as salad, trout pate, Barra fish and Stornoway black pudding.  Visitors often comment on the excellent range of goods we have available.

 

​​As well as food items, the Bùth stocks a range of goods which meets the needs of our customers. This includes ​crafts, eco-products,  arts and craft materials, yarn, haberdashery, books (local interest, fiction, non-fiction, Gaelic, English) maps and guides, fishing and other outdoor and camping equipment.​
